Description

XSE is a game and simulation engine. The engine was designed to allow extensibility by a flexible module system. It also has a rich set of features, such as a state of the art render system, 3D position audio, optimized module for landscape and batch rendering... It has been used in several projects that appear on this site.

I worked actively in the system itself, but also creating some applications based on this framework. Regarding the tasks directly related to the system, I worked on the following:

  • Development of an audio engine and integration as a module in the framework.
  • Development of terrain module. It handles both landscape generation and rendering, and manages large sets of geometry placed on terrains (stones, grass, trees...).
  • Creation of advanced water module, used for ocean simulations.
  • Added parametric curves for geometry generation.
  • Creation and integration of a collision detection system.
  • Refactorization and extension of UI system.
  • Implementation of an integrated graphical debug system for easing engine and applications development.

Due to the private nature of the project I am not able to provide more details about this project.
