Description

This project consisted on educational content about the sea, aimed for children. A great setup was setup in the largest aquarium of Europe, offering school groups a new learning experience. In a setup of 4 displays with stereoscopic display, children could interact and play with virtual actors in an undersea world. In that context several games were provided to help their learning experience.

The project consisted in six modules, and I was in charge to develop the first one. However, I ended up doing some more general tasks. That first module was an animated CG sequence consisting in a travel through the solar system, until arriving to the Mediterranean Sea (connecting with the other undersea modules). That included the synchronization of all the items and the tweak of many parameters (camera, colours, per-object animations...).

In a more general context, I also helped developing some tools for easing the development of all the modules. That includes the following:

  • Animation module, supporting 3D Studio Max exported key frames animations. That was used both for camera and characters animations.
  • Event system for handling animation sequences synchronized between computers (since the system was operating with 5 computers).
