Description

This system is composed by several software programs that use virtual worlds for motor rehabilitation. The system is able to detect and track patient movement, which is the interaction mode in those worlds. In there, the patient must follow several exercises that in fact are games (since that increases patient motivation). Finally, at the end of the exercises all the relevant information is stored.

I was responsible of all the programming tasks, while the other member of the team was in charge of the graphics and media generation. The programming tasks can be divided in two groups: tracking and games. Considering the tracking, they are:

  • Integration of camera library in application.
  • Development of user tracking algorithms.
  • Development of tracking toolset.

About the different games, these are the main features:

  • Development of tracking plugin for the used game engine.
  • Programming of all game logic. This included game objects - user interaction, programs user interface, sound, and user (and user data) management.
