Mayordomo

Mayordomo is a set of tools aimed to help the emotional and animical state of elder people. I was involved in the developement of one of these tools, consisting in a set of virtual worlds that people could visit in a guided way. A multidisciplinary group of people (therapists, artists and technicians) were involved in the definition, creation and validation of those worlds.

A toda vela

On this project a simulator of racing boats (regattas) was built to be used in the Museum Príncipe Felipe (CAC) for a exhibition. The program allows 6 people to play at once, 3 on each team. Every person can control one part of the boat, and if some role is not occupied, an AI agent takes control automatically. An interesting animated camera system, resembling a real regatta TV program, was developed for this project.

Vision

In this project a next generation communication system was developed by the contribution of many partners. The goal was to build a 3D real time conferencing system for multiple users, and giving priority to the presence concept. The project involved tasks such as real time volume reconstruction and mapping, displaying buffers in stereoscopic displays or integrating (reconstructed) users in interactive virtual environment.

Eco Train Motor

This system is composed by several software programs that use virtual worlds for motor rehabilitation. The system is able to detect and track patient movement, which is the interaction mode in those worlds. In there, the patient must follow several exercises that in fact are games (since that increases patient motivation). Finally, at the end of the exercises all the relevant information is stored.

Ingeniería emocional

The aim of this research project was to develop new technologies and methodologies in order to improve the quality of experimental product development, and for that purpose the project focuses on furniture products. By letting users move and play in a highly customizable virtual environment, installed in a CAVE system in order to provide a high level of immersion, relevant product information can be retrieved.

This project consisted on educational content about the sea, aimed for children. A great setup was setup in the largest aquarium of Europe, offering school groups a new learning experience. In a setup of 4 displays with stereoscopic display, children could interact and play with virtual actors in an undersea world. In that context several games were provided to help their learning experience.

Simucal - Mevapi

Simucal and Mevapi are two different applications used to study the physical behaviour of some items. Simucal operates on shoes, analyzing their behaviour under pressure; Mevapi provides similar results but operates on gloves and helmets models. Both applications attempt to provide accurate results, and both of them are built on the XSE framework.

Golf Demo

This project consisted on the creation of a virtual golf field. The virtual world was used for showing, visualization and sketching of a real field, before construction. For that purpose several types of navigation were provided: first person and flying navigations.
